Paper Abstract:      This article presents the eTQF project - A Framework to Support Teachers’ CPD in the use of ICT funded by the European Commission managed by Consorzio FOR.COM. (Italy). This project focuses on adult education and the role of e-learning in improving training methodologies and tools according to the specific needs of adult learners. In response to these concepts, the eTQF project has a double aim: 1) to support the continuous professional development of teachers in the use of ICT in education, through an online course based on specific ICT topics and didactic examples, that will show them how to integrate ICT in every day teaching; 2) to develop and test an assessment tool based on an objective framework for ICT competency, which teachers, schools principals, education managers and authorities can use to assess and benchmark teachers’ competency in the use of ICT in education. Moreover, the eTQF project foresees the creation of a Community of Practices that will sustain the project’s outputs and promote the exchange of ideas and information among teachers to continuously improve their ICT competencies.
